Desks represent one of the physical spaces your users can book in Kadence. Get creative and set up bookable phone booths, meeting rooms, pods, or anything else. Anything you want your users to be able to book can be created as a desk.

Prerequisites:
- You must be at least a global or building admin in Kadence
- You must be using the Kadence web app
Creating a desk*
To create a new desk, follow the steps below:
- Go to Buildings > click on a building
- Click on the floor you want to add a desk to
- Click “Add” on the right side of the page, then click “Desk”
- Enter the name of the desk
- Click on the green camera next to the desk icon to upload an image of the desk
- Enable or disable the ability to book the desk. (Note, you might want to disable a desk if an employee is using it on a permanent basis or if you would like to enforce minimum distance kept between desks.)
- Add the amenities the desk will have. For information on how to set up amenities see: Adding a new amenity
- If applicable, you can assign your desk to the appropriate neighborhood. To find out how to create neighborhoods, see: Managing neighborhoods
- Toggle on "Restrict desk access" to control who can book this desk on an individual level. Here you can choose which days specific users can book this desk.
- Once you are happy with the desk, click “Add”

Editing a desk
Freely edit your desks anytime by following the steps below:
- In the floor view click on the three dots (⋮) next to the desk you wish to edit
- Click “Edit desk”. Here you can:
- Change the name of the desk
- Change the image of the desk
- Enable or disable the ability to book the desk
- Change the amenities the desk has. For information on how to set up amenities see: Adding a new amenity
- Assign or unassign your desk to a neighborhood. To find out how to create neighborhoods, see: Managing neighborhoods
- Toggle on or off "Restrict desk access" to control who can book this desk on an individual level.
- Once you are happy with the changes click “Save”
Deleting a desk*
Underutilized desks may be taking up unnecessary space in your floor plan, delete desks by following the steps below:
- In the floor view click on the three dots (⋮) next to the desk you wish to edit
- Click “Delete desk”
- You will be prompted to confirm the choice to delete the desk
Note: Deleting a desk will cancel all bookings associated with the desk. Once a desk has been deleted you cannot restore it.
